Providence, the capital of Rhode Island, may be small when compared to nearby Boston, but shares its big-city feel.
It is home to numerous hospitals, colleges and universities such as Brown, Providence College, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Johnson & Wales, parks, shops, arts institutions, and some of the best restaurants in New England.
Laurelmead’s neighborhood — the East Side — is a mostly a residential, affluent area bordering the Brown University campus. Right outside our doors, Blackstone Boulevard offers a 1.7-mile, tree-lined path for walking and jogging, with bike lanes on the street.
Walk down nearby Hope, Thayer and Wickenden Streets to find cafes, restaurants, and small independent boutiques.
