Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Cooperative?
When you buy into Laurelmead, you become both a resident and an owner. The benefits of this dual status are that you have a stake in the success of Laurelmead and a say in the decision making of our management team.
What style of apartments do you have?
We have a wide variety of floor plans: studio, 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom with a den, 2 bedrooms, 2 bedrooms with a den, and penthouse. View the floor plans.
May I bring a pet?
Laurelmead understands that your pet is a member of your family. Small pets are welcome with a maximum of two per apartment.
What does the monthly fee cover?
One meal per day, all utilities except telephone, bi-weekly housekeeping, scheduled transportation, interior and exterior maintenance of all residences and common areas, 24-hour security, local real estate tax, and a capital reserve contribution. See our Services & Amenities page for a full list.
Is there a fitness center with a swimming pool?
Yes. We also have a whirlpool, aerobics room, and resistance room. Each room is staffed by knowledgeable people who can help you to follow the fitness plan of your choice.
May my grandchildren come to visit?
We enjoy seeing family visit. They may stay with you in your apartment or reserve one of our two guest suites for a small fee.
Is there medical staff on duty?
There are no physicians, but we do have a Registered Nurse/Health Care Coordinator who can assist in emergency situations, as well as help you when coordination of the health care system is necessary. She is only a phone call away.
Do you offer Wi-Fi?
Our library offers two computer stations as well as Wi-Fi access. A public wireless connection is also accessible from the first floor common areas.
What happens when I'm not independent anymore?
Laurelmead is your home. We want you to be here for as long as you like. Situations may arise, however, when you need additional help. Our Health Care Coordinator can help you to obtain any special equipment or personal care you may desire to remain living safely in your apartment.
