There are many common areas at Laurelmead which expand our sense of home and broaden our horizons.
We also support many special interest groups — Readers, Pet Lovers, Gardeners, Cooks, Men’s Club, “Artists in Residents,” among others.

Facilities

Blackstone Library
Our collection of over 3,000 volumes includes books, periodicals, DVDs and CDs. Free wireless internet and two computers and printers are available for resident use. Many of us contribute to our periodic literary publication The Laurelmead Journal — view a recent edition here.

Great Room
Tuesday Teas, birthday parties, anniversary parties, board games, quiet times by the fire with the Providence Journal or New York Times — just some of the many activities that take place in our Great Room.

Dr. Perry Conference Room
Occasionally we need a private space for business or meetings.  The Conference Room is available by reservation and comfortably seats up to 14 people. Light refreshments can be ordered.

Main Lobby
This is the epicenter of Laurelmead! Watch the comings and goings at the main entrance, greet old friends, meet new friends or warm up by the fireplace while enjoying the hustle and bustle of life at Laurelmead. Our Front Desk is open 24 hours a day with a reception and security staff always ready to help.

Mail Room
Two mailboxes are assigned to each resident:  one for external mail, one of internal mail. Large packages are delivered to your door overnight. It’s also the hub for special announcements and the Activities Bulletin, so you’ll always be well informed.

Salon
Our friendly full-service experts accommodate both men and women. The Salon is right on the premises, so you don’t have to leave home to look your best.

Convenience Store
Light groceries, soups, sandwiches, candy, greeting cards, postage stamps, gifts and other necessities are at your disposal in our little shop just inside the main lobby for your convenience.

Guest Accommodations
Enjoy private baths, free wireless internet, complimentary continental breakfasts, and wake-up calls. These affordable, well-appointed suites rival the hotels in the area and are a cozy home-away-from-home for guests of our residents.

Underground Parking
Easily accessible underground parking is available with some apartments at an additional cost.
